This project was built in collaboration with Sanjay Prakash Architects, with Ashok Lall Architects providing design consultancy. Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology is a premier institution of New Delhi for Information Technology. The campus is planned for an ultimate student population of 1500 students. The site planning places the buildings on the rocky outcrops while preserving the flat land for a central recreation zone and the planting strategy combined with rainwater harvesting is designed to recover the natural ecology of this landscape. The buildings are designed for high environmental performance with modulated daylight to all working spaces, adequate shading systems and insulation of stone cladding on the outer face of the building is provided. Design is aimed at minimizing heating loads where the library and the student center deploy innovative plans and day lighting systems. A centralized air conditioning plant is designed to provide air conditioning to hostel rooms at night, while serving the institutional buildings during the day.
