    Sunder Nursery Garden House

The Sunder Nursery is a public garden developed by the Aga Khan Trust for cultural development in New Delhi.  The Garden House will be an educational facility which will create a sub tropical forest eco system artificially as well as have a smaller section representing the desert region. It will also have a gardening shop and cafeteria. The circulation system picks the path arriving from the garden into a rising spiral movement through the garden house to exit on a bridge that leads to an arboretum. A tall translucent tented space is scaled to accommodate the middle/ under storey of a tropical tree canopy. The roof design, its form, opening and orientation combined with a sub floor earth air tunnel ventilation supply maintain tropical conditions round the year. This is achieved with simplicity and economy. Tall swiveling green panels provide adjustable shade to the glass enclosures at the ground level.
